Romancing The Wind, or RTW as she is affectionately known, is a 60’, custom built, all-steel Ketch Sailboat. She boasts a 15’ beam (width), with plenty of relaxing and walk around deck space. She has high, rigid “banister” style rails throughout making her safe for all ages. RTW is a United States Coast Guard Documented and Inspected vessel certified to carry 41 passengers and crew combined. We limit our regular capacity to 30 passengers for comfort but can authorize up to 35 passengers on request and approval! RTW was custom designed and built by master boat builder Mr. Todd Tarico. Built exclusively for charter operations, RTW went into service in 1985 in the Los Angeles area. In 2015 she was purchased by Captain Jack Buckley and put into charter service in San Diego. Captain Jim Manos, part of Captain Jack’s crew, bought RTW in 2018 and has been operating her in San Diego ever since. Jim began modernization and retro fitting RTW into one of San Diego’s most sought-after charter vessels! Jim is a California native, born and raised in San Diego. Jim is a USCG licensed 100 ton Captain and is also a retired Airline Captain with over 25000 flight hours.
